When Casey Danner, Katelynn Tarrant, Tyler Leman, and Traci Lavelle formed the team “Will MTTH for Donuts”, they had one end goal in mind – to come out of the annual "Moving through the Holidays" challenge in first place, and take home the coveted "Golden Sneaker MTTH Trophy." That’s just what they did! It wasn’t easy, despite the many donuts they consumed throughout the 10 week challenge. The team ended the challenge with a total of 3,949,511 steps, which converts to about 1,795 miles, topping the list of 24 teams that participated in this year’s challenge. Their goal to hit 4 million steps almost became a reality. Where did the team name come from? Turns out they just like donuts. “That’s why we do this, so we can eat, right?” stated Casey, “Life is all about balance." All members of the team put in an equal amount of hard work. “We all contributed equally throughout most of the challenge." Even though Tyler started out the challenge with a fractured wrist, and Katelynn ended up being sick near the end of the challenge, they were still able to gather plenty of steps to keep their team in the running. All members of the team are very competitive and they knew that they would be a good team with their determined spirit. It paid off! The team now inherits the traveling "Golden Sneaker MTTH Trophy" for bragging rights along with a $25 gift card to Big 5 for each team member. Maybe next year they’ll move through the holidays for pizza, who knows, they’re open to suggestions.
