On November 21, the Prescott Valley Town Council awarded three road construction projects along Highway 89A to ease access along this corridor.
The Prescott Valley Public Works Department recently received notification of anticipated construction schedule from contractor CLM Earthmovers.
The Viewpoint Drive project will construct a second northbound lane from Highway 89A to Pronghorn Ranch Parkway. The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will then re-stripe the eastbound exit to allow for two left hand turn motions heading into the Viewpoint/Pronghorn Ranch area. This project began in December and is slated for completion on January 15, 2020.
The Glassford Hill Road Project will construct a third southbound lane on Glassford Hill Road from 89A to Tuscany Way. The exit will be reconfigured to allow for a "free flow right," meaning vehicles will not have to stop as they exit eastbound 89A onto Glassford Hill Road. This project is scheduled to begin January 15, 2020, with a completion day of April 1, 2020.
The Coyote Springs Road project will add a third lane for about 400 feet between Highway 89A and Antelope Meadows Drive, and relocate the cattle guard. Started in December 2019, it is scheduled for completion on February 1, 2020.
These projects are joint funded by the Town of Prescott Valley (using development impact fees and Highway User Revenue Funds) and Yavapai County (using Regional Roadway Expansion sales tax dollars). Look for the projects to begin soon and be complete by May 2020 (weather permitting, of course!). A huge thank you to Yavapai County for co-funding these improvements!
