Intergovernmental Agreements with Yavapai County Glassford Hill Road – Free Flow Right Project, Capital Improvement Project #S458.
The Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization conducted a Transportation Study for SR 89A to identify project priorities for improvements. Study was completed in March 2018 and two turn lane project recommendations are proposed for project partnership between the Town and Yavapai County to include the Viewpoint 2nd Lane and Glassford Hill Free Flow Right. Intergovernmental Agreements (IGA’s) have been drafted so design can begin with construction funding proposed this FY ‘19/20. Funding for the proposed improvements will be shared equally by the Town and Yavapai County in Fiscal Year 2019-2020.
Arizona Revised Statute §§11-951 and 11-952 authorize the Town and Yavapai County to enter into IGA agreements to jointly exercise powers common to them, it is proposed that the Town and Yavapai County enter into these IGA’s to cooperate (including equal cost sharing) to hire a consultant to design, and then to hire a contractor to construct the improvements. Yavapai County Board of Supervisors approved these IGA’s in its regular meeting held on June 19, 2019.
The projected completion date is June 2022.
