Town Center (Downtown) – Originally, 580 acres were available for development in the new Town Center. Since 1999, when the Town Hall was built as the northern anchor, major developments in the downtown area include:
- 14-screen Harkins Theatres, which anchors the “Entertainment District” on the south end of downtown
- two retail buildings adjacent to Harkins Theaters which house Garcia’s, Baskins Robbins and other businesses
- 10,000 sq. ft. office building which houses the Chamber of Commerce and others
- 90,000 sq. ft. Fry’s Food Store
- 50-bed Yavapai Regional Medical Center east campus, which is expandable to 250 beds
- 40-bed Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital
- More than 200 apartments north of Town Hall
- 140,000 sq. ft. 6,000-seat special events arena opened in November 2006 and houses a minor league hockey team and provides the area with a major concert venue, ice shows etc.
- 118-room Hampton Inn and Suites near Harkins Theatres opened in November 2008.
Retail Tenants in the downtown area include Fry’s Food Store, Streets of New York, Panda Express, Tailgater's, IHOP, Wendy’s, Chili’s, Garcia’s Mexican restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings, Baskins Robbins, Fuddrucker's, and others.
There continues to be about 200 acres available within the downtown area boundaries, including land near the new events center and land next to the Hampton Inn and Suites.
Glassford Hill Marketplace – Located west of Glassford Hill Road between Florentine Road and Lakeshore Drive, this 50-acre site is planned for regional retail uses. A 68,000 square-foot Kohl’s opened in October 2007. A 152,000 square ft. Wal-Mart Supercenter is planned to be under construction in 2011 and open in 2012. Total retail square footage in the center is about 400,000.
Prescott Valley Crossroads -- a 100-acre power center located on both sides of Highway 69 at the intersection of Sundog Ranch Road. The center is anchored by Home Depot and Sam's Club with Cracker Barrel, Hobby Lobby and others open as well. Total retail space at the Crossroads is more than 600,000 square feet.
Glassford Hill area: located next to the Crossroads site, currently has a Liberty Kia dealership located on site, as well as a 200-unit luxury apartment complex. About 25 acres is available in the area, about 12 of those acres in a project now known as Crossroads Terrace Business Park. That development will be anchored by a 100-room Comfort Suites that opened in January 2009. At the intersection of Market Street and Great Western, another 6 acres will be developed with a possible 80-room Holiday Inn anchoring that area.
Santa Fe Centre: East of the Crossroads center, the 25 acres recently was rezoned. Stoneridge Drive will extend north and then east to connect with Glassford Hill Road. No development plans have been submitted.
Eastridge -- Eastridge originally included about 40 acres located on the south side of Highway 69 at the Navajo Drive intersection. Currently, several buildings and businesses are on the site. Two spec retail/office buildings totaling about 37,000 square feet have been built and are available. More than 25 acres still are vacant.
Navajo Commons – About 25 acres located one block off Highway 69 at the intersection of Florentine Road and Navajo Drive. Infrastructure improvements have been completed at the site and lots are currently being marketed. A Dollar General store, which opened in spring 2010, anchors the project.
Viewpoint Drive area—Near the intersection of Pronghorn Ranch Parkway and Viewpoint Drive. Adjacent to Highway 89A, the 50-acre site is seeing traffic counts of about 30,000 a day. Directly to the east another 30 acres is zoned commercial.
Quailwood – Quailwood, a master-planned community, is fronted along Highway 69 by about 50 acres of commercially zoned land. No development plans yet.
Prescott Valley Crossing -- 25 acres commercially zoned at the intersection of Highway 69 and Highway 169. Conceptual plan shows about 185,000 leaseable square footage available at site.
Florentine/Lake Valley area – Older established retail area with major users Albertson’s, Safeway, and K-Mart. These areas are between 15 and 20 years old. Both Albertson’s and K-Mart, located west and east of Lake Valley Road respectively, are stand alone stores, fronted by commercial pads along Highway 69. The Albertson’s land is company-owned and the K-Mart location is owned by a Texas-based family trust. The Safeway-anchored center located just west of Windsong Drive, is about 15 years old and contains about 50,000 square feet of leasable space. The Safeway is about 55,000 sq. ft. Vacancies are very scarce, with about 19 or 20 tenants. As with K-Mart and Albertson’s, the center is fronted by commercial pads along the Highway 69 frontage road.
