Police Officer Application Packet


Pre-Employment Requirements
Depending on the position, the following may be required prior to initial employment:

  • Successful completion of application materials, including, but not limited to, the town "Application For Employment." This form is available at the third floor Reception Desk in the Civic Center and also from this website (above).
  • Verification of education; such as college transcripts, high school diploma or GED certificate, and training certificates.
  • Verification of employment experience.
  • Verification of identity and work authorization; such as passport, driver's license, social security card, and other acceptable documents.
  • Approval of employment by Department Director and Town Manager.

Q. Can I submit an application at any time?
A. The Town of Prescott Valley accepts applications for positions that have been publicly advertised. In addition to an advertisement, these openings are posted at the Civic Center third floor receptionist desk, listed on our website and on our job hotline.

Q. How do I apply?
A. Applications are available from the Civic Center third floor receptionist desk or you can call 928-759-3009 to request one be mailed to you. In addition, you may download an application.

Q. What happens after I file my application?
A. Each application is given careful consideration, however, this takes time. The review process can take several weeks. We realize it can be frustrating to feel you're on hold, but please be patient and give us time to be thorough.

Q. If I've previously completed an application, will I automatically be considered for other positions?
A. No. Applications are active for a period of six months following their filing date. During this six-month period, Human Resources may choose to review old applications for an open position with similar qualifications. If you are interested in applying for another open position, you will need to fill out and submit a new application. All applications become inactive after six months.

Q. What should I do if my address or phone number changes?
A. Notify Human Resources. We will attach a note of the change to your application.
