Lora Lee Nye was first elected as a Prescott Valley Town Council member in March 2003. She was re-elected in March 2007 and was voted in by the Town Council as Vice Mayor in June 2009. Her current term expires in June 2011.
Lora Lee moved to Prescott Valley in 1999 and brings to the council an extensive background in community involvement including her service as a court appointed advocate for children.
Lora Lee has participated in numerous neighborhood crime prevention projects, volunteered as a leader for the Girl Scout and Cub Scout organizations, stayed involved in her local Parent Teacher Organization meetings and served on several community boards and commissions including the Prescott Valley Arts and Culture Commission and the Community Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Lora Lee has been active in children and victim rights issues for over twenty years.
Lora Lee’s professional experience includes 20 years in administrative and office management in the behavioral health field. Lora Lee counts as one of her favorite accomplishments her graduation from the nation’s first FBI Citizens Academy.
As a long-standing patron of the arts, she has performed at dinner theaters and is a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church choir. Lora Lee also enjoys gardening and reading.
Lora Lee would like to continue promoting diversity, within the arts arena, as well as bring community art to Prescott Valley.
Her goals as a council member are to promote local and quad-city citizen awareness regarding town-wide issues and increase citizen participation in town activities and governances.
Lora Lee supports the development of work force housing, sustainable economic development, managed growth and will remain a fiscal conservative.
