Fran Schumacher was elected to the Prescott Valley Town Council in 1999 and re-elected in 2007. Her current term expires in June 2011.
Fran is actively involved in the community, with such volunteer activities as past president, Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona; past president, counsel of electors, Yavapai Regional Medical Center; member, Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce; president elect of Soroptomist International of Prescott Valley; president of the Cocopai Resource Conservation and Development Council. During the 16 years Fran has lived in Prescott Valley, she also has been involved in various other volunteer activities such as the 1994 Prescott Valley General Plan, Logo Committee, and Planning and Zoning Commission (1995-1999). She also has served as a steering committee member at Yavapai College Leadership Center; a member of the Healthy Communities Task Force (formerly 2020 Health Task Force) and a volunteer at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
Fran has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, which includes accounts-receivable, collections, and health insurance billing. Fran also studied for two years at the American Academy of Art School in Chicago, Illinois.
Fran is committed to promoting diverse activities and opportunities for youth and senior citizens in the community. Fran is also interested in issues regarding water, planned growth, affordable housing, transportation, economic development for more quality jobs, regional cooperation, and quality education.
Fran currently works for a local ad magazine as an Account Executive.
