Mike Flannery, Councilmember

Mike Flannery, CouncilmemberMichael Flannery has served as a Prescott Valley Town Council member since 1998 and has served as Vice Mayor. His current term expires in June 2011. 

Councilmember Flannery is particularly interested in issues involving water; local and regional transportation; economic development; parks and recreation; arts and culture; federal, state, and local legislation; and technology to assist the government and citizens.

In his 30 years in the tri-city area, Mike has been an active volunteer for numerous organizations. Mike has a long history of involvement with government, having served in a variety of capacities: Chairman of the economic development subcommittee, 1994 Prescott Valley General Plan; founding member and President, Prescott Valley Economic Development Foundation; current board member, Yavapai County Industrial Development Authority (IDA); former member and Chairman, Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Commission; past Council representative on the Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG); and as a Council representative, Central Yavapai Transportation Planning Organization. Mike currently serves as Council representative and Vice Chairman of the Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization (CYMPO), a member of the executive board of Arizona's Rural Transportation Advocacy Council (RTAC), Chairman of Northern Arizona Municipal Water Users Association (NAMWUA), Vice Chairman of the Upper Verde River Watershed Protection Coalition (UVRWPC) and Co-Chair of the Yavapai County Water Advisory Committee (WAC).

Mike holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University.
