40th logo - final

In 2018 Prescott Valley will celebrate its 40th anniversary of incorporation! A spectacular celebration is on tap at the Prescott Valley Civic Center.

Two days of events, Saturday and Sunday, August 25 and 26, will include Saturday stage entertainment by Eric Clapton, Journey, and Heart tribute bands, and other live music and performances; a huge car show on Saturday morning; inflatable fun from Hero Party Rentals both days; a Hollywood Squares-style show sponsored by the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce; and an Antique Road Show-style event, sponsored by the Prescott Valley Historical Society and so much more!

Saturday's lineup culminates with the largest fireworks show in Northern Arizona's history! (you can watch the show from Mountain Valley Park or pull up a chair and watch from the Civic Center!)

Each of the weekend’s two days of fun will include plenty of food vendors, with some gustatory delights supplied by area ethnic cooks. Visit the sponsor booths and peruse the arts & crafts exhibitors.

Sunday’s lineup will include a Cowboy Church service at the Theater on the Green, a toe-tapping Gospel choir showcase, a wedding vow renewal (and possibly a wedding or two!) presided over by the magistrate judge, and an Ice Cream Social on the grounds. Scandalous Hands Band performs at 4:00 pm and ABBAFAB performs at 6:30 pm at the Theater on the Green main stage.

Prescott Valley Florist is donating a bouquet for the brides and a boutonniere for the grooms, as well as a little something for those renewing their vows! To sign up or for more information, call Communications Coordinator Heidi Dahms Foster at 928-759-3123.

Extreme fire conditions cause cancellation of PV Fireworks; BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON with entertainment at the Civic Center!

After 22 years of successful and safe fireworks displays, Town of Prescott Valley Manager Larry Tarkowski regretfully shared the decision on Monday to cancel this year's show.

Although the fireworks had been permitted by the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority and the Town had plans for added patrol and fire protection, historic dry conditions, the lack of forecast rain and extreme fire danger through the coming week led to the decision. Tarkowski said the fireworks show will be moved to the Town's 40th Anniversary Pinnacle Weekend on Saturday, August 25.

The Town still will have a day of family fun, with all activities moved to the Prescott Valley Civic Center, 7501 E. Civic Circle. The fun starts at 3 p.m. as Hero Party Rentals will roll out a host of bounce houses and water filled inflatables. This awesome lineup of 4th of July attractions includes: 5 Lanes of water slides, 6 Lanes of dry slides, Vertical Reality Bungee Trampolines, 24' Rock Wall, the Human Gyroscope and much more.

While admission to the Civic Center campus and the live entertainment is free, the Hero Party Rental attractions require a wristband available at the Civic Center on July 4th. The price for the wristband has been lowered to $15. Get mementos of the fun at the deluxe photo booth, and enjoy glow products and Dippin' Dots concession sales.

A beer and food garden will open at 4 p.m.. The free live entertainment starts at 3pm with bluegrass masterworks by Ping Brothers and then at 6pm the awesome classic rock and country sound of Five in the Wheel. Sit back, relax and enjoy.

Bring blankets, lawn chairs and coolers if you like, (no EZ Ups or tents) but please leave the alcoholic beverages, grills, pets* and glass containers at home. For more information call Prescott Valley Parks & Recreation at 928-759-3090.
